About Me

Hello! I am APandaSniper and am here to bring you a very easy to follow build order that aims to improve the core techniques you will need to play Zerg "properly." Accompanying this build order will be a beginner’s guide to playing Zerg.

Note: I am by no means an expert, and this build should be used primarily by newer players that are interested in learning Zerg.

INTRODUCTION to Zerg

Fundamentals of Zerg

This build order will be focusing primarily on your ability to master the fundamentals of Zerg which are very different than the fundamentals of Protoss or Terran.

The Zerg Fundamentals are as follows:

  1. Understanding Zerg Economy
  2. Properly Maintaining your Larva
  3. Quantity over Quality
  4. Controlling the Map

Expansions Vs. Macro Hatcheries

Knowing when to expand and when to get a macro Hatchery is a very important thing to learn as a Zerg player.

Base Layout Suggestions

  • Build your first Extractor on the Vespene Geyser closest to the ramp towards your natural and build your Spawning Pool in between your Extractor and Hatchery

Note: Leaving the 1 space gap allows your Drones and Zerglings to still quickly hatch while also allowing your Queen to fill the gap and create a wall for your Drones!

  • Consider building a 3 building wall with your Roach Warren or Baneling Nest, and two Evolution Chambers in your natural.

Note: Leaving the single space gap allows your Queen to complete the wall!
