Description

If you're looking for a go-to Protoss opening in PvT (and potentially PvZ), this is your standard opening. The 1 Gate Expand is a standard, economic opening. Then, the Adept and Stargate unit allows you to do light harassment to complete the transition

Analysis

Not too much to say here since this is just an opening. Use the Adept to scout around as you can safely use the shade to poke in for vision and then not commit. If possible, pick off a few SCVs.

In this particular VOD, Patience loses his Oracle almost instantly, so early Cyclones do appear to be a problem for harass. You can imagine how that might have turned out otherwise.

You have a few different options for followups out of this build.

For the Stargate, the obvious options are either Oracle or Phoenix depending on your preference. From there, you can go into a variety of mid-game compositions, including:

continuing to commit to air units and mass Phoenix
getting a bunch of Gateways and massing Adepts
putting down a Robo before 3:30 and switching into Immortals or Disruptors on the ground
getting a Twilight Council for Blink

or anything else. This is a relatively flexible opening
