Analysis

ZvP

**

First you're going to build two drones which supply blocks you. So you will build a gas, bringing you to 13/14 supply. Build a drone immediately. Cancel the gas. Now you should be at 15/14 supply (This is an Extractor Trick, It's what we like to call a "pro gamer move"). Save up minerals and go take a hatch. Now you're back at 14/14 supply, take a gas, build a drone (back at 14/14 supply again). Now build the pool. Fill the gas immediately. Build an overlord. From this point on you ONLY build overlords and lings. (if you build any drones you're just weakening the attack and you're a wuss) @ pool start ling speed and pull all three drones off gas. Start pumping lings and hiding them from any scouting probe. This is important. If the probe sees your lings and builds a battery before you arrive at the enemy natural, you're done and you may as well GG out. AT 230 NO EARLIER NO LATER, A move across the map. A move past the incoming adept you have other goals and cant waste time on meaningless adepts. Knock down the wall, take out the cyber, or take out the pylon powering the cyber. You NEED to stop warp gate. Either by depowering it or killing it. From there on its normal target priority.

ZvZ This is scouted easily by a competent zerg. If theyre incompetent then you'll easily flood a crap load of ings on them before they know what hit them. E Z win.

If what you guys are saying had any basis in truth then what u guys are trying to say would make at least the vod vs the m1 fake or something. but its not, and the gm was a hair away from losing.

No one can see those links btw, so your point is moot.

The ability for a build to be countered lies on a spectrum from will-never-work to very robust. This build falls in that spot in the middle where it will get you to diamond by cheesing but it objectively sucks due to the counters being black and white, easy to learn, and very absolute.

Oh really? Well heres me doing it to a GM, and and M1 https://sc2replaystats.com/replay/18822653

The argument that something only works until they know how to counter it appllies to literally EVERY SINGLE BUILD ORDER. So yeah of course it has its counters. everything does, thats not the point.
What is good about the build is that it makes attempts to fool and trick the protoss. If theyre being lazy or not paying close enough attention they will assume standard macro, Which means they lose. You can also make atempts to further trick them by for example delaying gas or your first few larva are drones. Theres many things you can do.
But saying the build is bad because it can be countered is just silly. I know how to counter a 2-1-1 does that mean the build is bad and no one should be doing it? Hell no. Youre oversimplifying the game with a statement that applllies to everything. It makes no sense, instead can you expllain why?

Nah this build only works against people that don't know how to beat it yet. I made a point of doing it on ladder, and if I won I'd tell them how easy it can be to counter.

As with any build it can be scouted. just because you personally know how to scout it or think it is easy doesnt mean others do. I regularly use it vs masters level players and it has even worked vs a gm. Everything and anything can be scouted. The point is the build attempts to trick the opponent. sure it may or may not work, depends how well you can compliment the fake. You can also see my zvp win rate above 70% which is a direct counter argument to this build being bad because you think its a simple scout. Well i think you just need to play it better. There are things you can do like delaying the hatch and or gas, killing the probe or pressuring it etc. get creative, just because you fail at something doesnt mean its bad it just means youre bad.

Yeah I face this build all the time and to be honest, the scout is super obvious that it's a 15/14 or 14/13/13. The hatch is farther along and the pool is early. The reaction to the build is super simple as well: make a battery and just make sure you always have a wall and a door unit. Ez hold

I am definitely having probe lems with ZvP, and I hate the idea of a cheese to beat Protoss (100-250 W/L against P as Z). However, after playing a couple games last night and they ALL were cheeses I might have to start doing this just to have a chance.

It's only if they have a battery and or cannon doown before you get there. If it's just a unit in the wall you will break though as long as u continue rallying lings across the map as fast as possible.

NA D2 for context on opponent quality...

In ZvP, you can consider not hiding. If your OL scouts an early nexus you can often unpower the wall and that’s an immediate GG. If they got three structures and a unit in the wall before you’re there, then yes, hold.

In ZvZ, the meta has gotten so cheesy that the build isn’t what it used to be.

And you got some balls using it vs terran dude, even ling bane vs a hellion opener meta is not the best idea. I can see it working though, thats for sure

whoever is downvoting this, this is a well known build i think made popular by scarlett years ago. It's nothing i invented myself. I'm just sharing the information if anyone is having zvp probe lems

This has been working well for me on the ladder. I also find that its pretty good for terran as well. Only slight difference i do is after Zergling boost I keep 2 on gas and when i get enough morph a Baneling nest with of the drones on the mineral line. You have more minerals to spend than larva comes out. following the rest, you should overrun their natural and then can morph in around 4-5 Banelings while you wait outside their main to create a hole. from there its just flood till you win.

The meta seems for terran is firebats and mines these days so by the time you create a hole its already too late for the terran to pivot fast enough. From there its just rally lings till you win.
