Description

Once upon a time there was a mysterious book called the _"Book of Protoss Bullshit"_. In this book, there was a build called Triple Double because it consisted in 2 nexus, 2 immortal and 2 colossi all-in in PvZ. Since that was another game and another story, I tried to readapt this build into lotv making it something off-meta and really difficult to read. Enjoy yourself!

Analysis

This build has few keypoints:

  • It's an all-in: while powerful, if you lose all army, you are dead, because you don't have eco to continue stay in game.

  • It has really low unit count early game, this is why you need to deny scout and scout enemy.

  • It's a powerful surprise attack, so you need to plan your moves accurately and make good use of forcefields. The first engage is crucial. This build dies from any air-cheese/allin like fast muta or if enemy does corruptors.

  • You need to slow down zerg. If you see hydra den it's ok. Mass roaches are more a pain since your colossus do not do well vs them.Try deny roach warren with immortal harass.

  • It's a TRIPLE DOUBLE! 2 nexus, 2 immortals, 2 colossi! Phew phew!

The build explained:

Basically you do standard gate expand and send pylon probe to scout. You delay Warp research to have faster robo and start Prism and then 2x immortal (always CB) to move out with the harassing phase. Slow down zerg as you can, focus drones, creep, eventually snipe tech (roach warren over hydra den). Keep scouting the zerg to see his main composition.

Continue producing sentry but remember to save gas for robotics bay (you place it after you started first immortal) and keep scouting with allucinated phoenix. As soon as your double colossus are ready, rendevouz with the prism and two immortals and start warping units (after colossi build an observer and if enemy has anti-air, another warp prism).

  • Vs Roaches -> warp in stalkers
  • Vs Hydra or lings -> warp adepts

Choose accurately where to engange, usually the natural is a good idea since you have plenty of forcefield and can cut out enemy with ease. If he scouts your army coming, better take out his third first and snowball.

Be careful: this push get more power the more the time goes on since you will attack with 2 immortal, 2 colossi, 6-7 sentry and 6-7 stalker. It's really important to place good forcefields to cut out enemy army while warping in more units. You can build even an additional colossus and send directly to frontline.

The timing of this all in is 6.30-7.00 min, with better macro i guess it could hit a bit earlier, still you will face a good number of enemy units.

Just to make it more clear: this build depends a lot on your engagement and forcefields! Do not let your army being surrounder, you will die! Force the fight right in front of you with your flanks and back covered and watch enemy worms burn!

Defending from cheese all-ins Since you will have a fast forge and sentry, ling based all-in cheese won't be a problem. Roach ravager could be a problem, but you still have your fast robo. Just produce immortals before prism in that case. Versus muta play you basically lost because you have no third and delay gateway production. The only option is to kill spire with immortals or warpin stalkers ASAP to place in your mineral line. As soon as you have fair decent amount of units, push out and pray.

Oh and if enemy has no detect, you can troll him making allucinated colossi (sometimes they just ragequit)
