Lately players are LOVING to rush an expand no matter what, often without scouting. My 3-gate robo stalker pressure was finding itself often unable to keep up even after inflicting some damage and dropping 2 adepts in the main, the opponent would rush to 35 probes, absorb the damage and overwhelm me. I decided that mixing a more dangerous all-in into my repertoire would make my opponents think twice before expanding. I’ve had great success with it so far and whilst I still have more refinements to make - here’s the gist of the build.
Standard PvP 2-gate Opening with these adjustments:
As soon as first gas finishes pull your 16th mineral worker over to gas, rally onto gas until both are 2/3, then rally the 16th worker back on minerals before rallying to finish 3/3 on both gases
Send probe out after 2nd gateway - go directly to proxy location and place 2nd pylon there
Proximity to their base is great - but it has to be far enough away that they can’t de-power it
If you see a probe enter your base, throw down a 3rd pylon just seconds after your proxy goes down (making it look like a normal that just skipped a scout)
@100% core - proxy robo immediately
You won’t have enough money to que up both gateway units so que up zealots to fake normal production (cheapest unit) and cancel and replace with stalkers quickly when you have the cash
Same thing with warpgate (it takes priority OVER those stalkers) - though I may change this priority when I get more experience.
1 chrono on probes @gateway complete, one chrono on warpgate - rest saved for robotics production
Make 3 stalkers and rally them across directly on the push path to pressure, intercept adepts and defend your robo to protect it from being depowered
@robo - chrono immortal then chrono warp prism
3rd gate + extra pylon at your proxy
Rally in immediately with the first immortal - making sure it doesn’t get surrounded or killed before the prism is ready to save it.
Warp in stalkers, adepts and zealots and go for the kill.
If they pull up their ramp use your warp prism to spot the high ground and save any units that get trapped.
Snipe their 2 gates
You can try to force your way up the ramp, contain them here or expand yourself and go straight into 1 SG
Oracles for killing economy if they retake their expansion and are macroing
