Avion's favorite build. (Avion is just a casual player who is unknown but likes to share with terrans).
Gas 1st, one Rax, Safe Expand into a 1-1-1 Vanguard Build Order into anything.
Positives:
- Denies early aggression going up the main ramp.
- Increases difficulty of enemy scouting.
- Build opens into anything after Vanguard Unit is sent to drop or scout or blunt an early aggression.
Vanguard consists of four Marines, one Siege Tank, and one Medivac.
Vanguard can siege any position to delay or harass the enemy by picking up and relocating.
Home Base is defended with optional turrets, a second siege tank, and marauder(s) in the bunker with marines coming out consistently.
Build Replay ends at 100 Gas, 100 minerals Perfectly, to transition into anything. This can be a tech upgrade, this can be another building, this can be another marauder, or two more marines, or another bunker, or an armory. You name it, as long as you allow the minerals to accumulate a little more to 150, you can build any building thereafter.
=========
Drop Play:
- Hit enemy mineral line between gas and mineral, siege tank and let it fire one splash then un-siege it immediately while marines kill off damaged units. Use medivac to scout around the location to check for incoming responses, relocate via pick up and boost.
Scout Play:
- SCV building 1st depot will then dip down the ramp and return back up, covering the inner part of the natural, prior to construction of the barracks.
- SCV building 2nd depot will then scout behind the mineral line and gas of natural, and tap the natural passageway, then return to the main, and check the third mineral patch from the cliff, before building the 2nd CC.
- Reaper finishes of local proxy checks by checking third location, and any fourth location(s), then checks enemy natural/third and then check main.
- Highly Recommend the reaper to patrol natural and thirds, and check for incoming aggression via middle path way, or can use reaper to check flanking pathwars.
Scout Play via Vanguard:
- Options to send Marines out on each pathway, and siege tank is sieged up high ground up a ramp located before approaching the natural, from enemy's perspective. Or, can have the medivac scout ahead of a ground-roll attack move through the middle towards enemy base.
- Can send a fake drop via medivac only, and have the tank and four marines attack move somewhere else, and the medivac that discovers information can swoop in to save, reinforce, or relocation the vanguard if their harassment is denied.
Anti-Aggression Play:
- Vanguard can delay any one-base, or early push/poke by hit and run drop siege, one splash damage, unsiege pick up, marine attack to finish off damage units, then pick up, boost back, kite, drop siege one splash unsiege, marine kite micro. During this micro intensive tactical play; the siege tank will deal damage while surviving, marines will be harder to kill due to medivac.
If a substantial push is coming, vanguard can counter harass drop in enemy bases, or can boost home to reinforce defenses.
=====
100 Minerals, 100 gas, is the end point of the build, because this is an investment into anything; can drop the tech lab from starport, or you can queue another medivac, Or go for stim. At 4:10 is when the build transfers to Terran personality and tech and army composition of choice.
