Description

Build

  • Standard Terran gas-first opening

  • Barracks

    • Tech lab
    • Lifts off and pauses production
    • Reactor (after banshee + cloak starts)
    • Lift off and idles for a bit
    • Starport builds straight on tech lab for fastest possible banshees + cloak
  • Structures further back from overlord to hide tech if possible

  • Factory

    • 3xhelions
    • Lift onto reactor
    • Lots of helions
    • Mix in cyclones a bit later/if you’re scared of roach push
  • Starport
    • Banshee + cloak
    • Viking
    • More banshees
  • 46/4:15 -3rd CC
  • 60/5:00 - 3rd/4th gas
  • 54/5:10 - armoury
  • 5:20 - hyperflight rotors
  • 85/6:40 - 2nd-3rd factory
  • Gases on 3rd as soon as it lands
  • Ebays when mutas could be out - vs normal 3 base builds usually around 7:00 you want turrets finishing - though often can get away with later since your helion banshee sees a lot and slows down zerg
  • 4th and 5th factory when you have cash

    - 4th CC nice and early

Notes Often thors first because banshees tend to force mutas/corrupters out so you need antiair. Remember to swap to the single target AA vs corruptors, stay on splash damage vs Mutas

Analysis

Remember the key stages of how to make this style work Stage 1 is harassment - banshees, helions, flying all over the place harassing and clearing creep. Bonus points for marine and viking denying scouting overlords! Stage 2 is your big pre-broodlord ground push. Aim to hit with that maxxed out tank/thor army and kill some bases/trade off really well! Do damage before broods or crazy viper counts get times to pick away at you! Stage 3 is when you add in viking/raven and can actually combat the brood/corruptor viper much more effectively. But you still want to push fast and deny bases, as well as helion/banshee harass exposed bases to punish lack of static.

Hello. I really love this build! However, there is a problem, and I am hoping that someone can help me.
The following line in the build order does not appear in the replay, so it might just be a glitch:

"78 5:51 Orbital Command"

I am not a very good player and I want to use SALT to improve my game, but because of this glitch it makes it very hard. I even tried to recreate the build order myself but the problem is that SALT for some reason will not let me put "orbital command" in the build order, so I cannot re-create it :(.

I would really like to learn this style, can someone help me?

Thank you so much Pig for sharing your thoughts on this! Mech is such a fun playstyle that is so under represented. Hope to see more of that content soon!
