Description

Dealing with Aggression and Drops can be very frustrating as a Zerg Player. We are almost always on the receiving end of Early / Mid Game Harassment. This Build tries to change that by opening with very fast non committal early Aggression.

The Goal is to deal economic Damage to the Terran by dropping 8 Lings in his Main and 4 Banelings in his Natural while the Terran is going for his usual Aggression. Important to note is that we still have to defend the Aggression of the Terran while we are harrassing him. However, if we defend and do damage to him we will be way ahead in the game or even outright win it.

The Build Order is based on a 2015 ZvP Build by Dark. He used to open with very quick Drops versus Protoss and transitioned into a Ling Bane ZvP Style. This Build works much in the same way.

The general Build Order is as follow: Hatch Gas Pool or Pool Gas Hatch Opener (17/17/17) ```

  • @100 Gas Ling Speed
  • @2:30-3:30 take a 3rd Base and build atleast 1 Queen to spread Creep
  • @100 Gas Overlord Speed (can be delayed slightly as seen in the Video)
  • @3:30-3:40 Evolution Chamber + Baneling Nest
  • @3:50-4:05 12 Lings (8 for a Ling Drop, 4 for a Baneling Drop) ```

After this proceed as you feel. I usually follow it up with a second Evolution Chamber and go for double Upgrades before Lair. I also take additional Gasses once my 3rd reaches near Saturation. I then transition into Ling Bane Hydra Style once my Lair is done. For more Information visit my LBH Guide: http://lotv.spawningtool.com/build/52587/

Analysis

Important to note is the Difference between a Marine and a Hellion / Banshee Opener.

Against Marine Openers (usually 2-1-1) you can play the Build without worrying much. Just spam massive amounts of Lings once you have committed to the Attack and Pull Queens to Defend.

Against Hellion Openers Queens alone should be enough to Defend. If he commits to Hellbat play morph some defensive Banelings. Additional Ling Reinforcements should help you clean up quickly.

Against Banshee Openers if you suspect Banshees (feel free to Scout with the Speed Overlords) build a spore per Mineral Line and you should take either no Damage at all or very little.
