Description

This is a rarely seen style of play performed by Guru in the past and can be performed against all 3 races with some adjustments depending on the race. Recommended for players who prefer heavy macro over micro as you'll be expanding quickly and droning heavily whenever possible only making units when necessary.

Analysis

For this build you should take huge focus on injects and production, droning as quickly as possible on your first 5 bases and bulding units to defend only when you need to. Once up to 3 base economy start being aggressive to keep the enemy away from your bases until you are finally saturated on 4-5 bases.

  • Start making a ton of Hydra and Ling/ Bane

From here, drone up your 4th and 5th bases, continue to make Ling/ Bane and Hydra while taking expansions. Counter attack and attack into the enemy taking as good trades as you can. Wear down the economy of your opponent until they are forced to succumb to the Swarm.

  • Weak against cheese, if spotted early enough, stop droning and mass enough units for defense.
  • spread 2-3 overlords hidden near the enemies base so you can spot early signs of pushes or harrass, with another 3 spread near drop locations and along attack paths.
